For factories

Production and stock tracking for small and mid-sized factories

Know which stage each lot is at, how much material it used and where defects come from, with the floor team recording on tablets or phones instead of paper.

In short

NICH TEC builds systems for small and mid-sized factories: production tracking by lot, raw material and finished goods stock, quality control (QC) records, machine maintenance plans and output dashboards. Factories that need a full ERP across every department should start with an off-the-shelf one. For shop-floor work an ERP doesn’t cover, we build the missing piece and connect it to the ERP.

What factories deal with

Nobody knows where a job is

A customer asks when their order will be ready, and someone walks the line asking at each station.

Material stock doesn’t add up

Materials are taken without being recorded, so production runs short or you buy more than you need.

Defects can’t be traced

QC results are on paper, so when a problem shows up nobody can tell which lot or machine it came from.

Machines fail without warning

Machines get fixed when they break, because nobody tracks maintenance schedules.

What we can build for factories

Production tracking by lot

Open a work order, scan at the start and end of each stage, and see every lot’s status live.

Raw materials and finished goods

Goods in, materials issued by bill of materials (BOM), and warnings below the reorder point.

QC records from the floor

Enter inspection results on a tablet with photos, and trace any problem to its lot, shift and machine.

Machine maintenance plans

Set maintenance intervals, alert technicians before they’re due, and keep each machine’s repair history.

Output dashboards

Output per shift, defects and downtime on a screen on the floor and on management’s phones.

ERP and accounting links

Send production and material usage into the systems you already run, with no double entry.

LotTrack

Know where every lot is and what it used

Line leaders scan the job card as each lot passes each step and record rejects and the materials actually used. The factory manager sees every lot, output and raw material stock on one screen.

How it helps your business

  • No more walking the floor to ask where a job is
  • Trace which materials went into which lot
  • Order materials before they run out, so lines don’t stop

Build your own, or buy off the shelf?

We don’t tell every business to build. If something off the shelf does the job, we’ll say so.

When off the shelf is better value

If you need accounting, purchasing, sales and HR across the whole company, use a proven off-the-shelf ERP and be willing to adapt some steps to it.

When your own system pays off

The shop floor is usually where an ERP fits worst: product-specific steps, your own QC records, or screens on the line. Building that piece and connecting it to the ERP often costs less than customising the whole ERP.

Timeline and price

Production tracking with stock and QC is usually a large project, around 12-24 weeks. The price depends on the details, and we estimate it for free after a 30-minute call.

Questions people ask

Our floor staff aren’t comfortable with computers. Will it work?

Yes. Floor screens get big buttons, few steps and scanning instead of typing, and we test them with your real floor team before rolling out.

Can it read data from our machines automatically?

It depends on the machines. If they can send data, or sensors can be added, the data can flow in. That needs a site survey before we estimate.

Can we start with one part?

Yes, and we recommend it. For example, start with tracking on one line, then extend to stock and QC once it works.

Our factory has patchy internet. Is that a problem?

No. The system can run on the factory’s internal network, or screens can save entries and send them when the connection returns. This adds to the scope, so mention it early.
