Computer Vision & Thai OCR Solutions in Thailand

Image recognition, object detection, and video analytics for any industry. We build computer vision systems — quality inspection, security analytics, OCR — for organizations in Chiang Mai and throughout Thailand.

Automated visual inspection for Thai manufacturers and Thai-script OCR for document-heavy operations. Runs at the edge where latency or connectivity demands it, or on-premise where the images cannot leave your site — which for factory floors and government paperwork is usually the deciding constraint.

Quality inspection on a Thai production line

A camera and a trained model check every unit rather than a sample, at line speed, with consistent criteria that do not drift over a shift. The realistic win is not replacing inspectors — it is catching the defect classes humans miss when they are tired at the end of a shift.

The practical constraint on a factory floor is rarely accuracy. It is lighting, camera placement, and whether the line can be stopped long enough to install anything. We scope those first, because a model that performs beautifully on clean sample images and badly under actual plant lighting is a common and expensive outcome.

Inference runs at the edge where the line cannot depend on an internet connection — which in provincial industrial estates is a real consideration rather than a theoretical one.

Thai-script OCR

Thai OCR is materially harder than Latin OCR: the script stacks vowels and tone marks above and below the baseline, and words are written without spaces. Engines tuned for English routinely mangle Thai documents, which is why generic OCR disappoints on Thai paperwork.

The highest-value applications we see are extracting data from Thai invoices and receipts, digitising government forms, and making archives of scanned Thai documents searchable. All three replace work that is currently done by someone retyping.

Accuracy should be measured on your documents, not on a vendor benchmark. We run a sample of your real paperwork before quoting, because a figure produced on clean printed text tells you nothing about performance on a faxed, stamped, handwritten-in-the-margin invoice.

Where the images are allowed to go

For government agencies, healthcare, and anything involving identity documents, sending images to an external API is frequently not permitted. We deploy on your own hardware in those cases, which is the same reason VG-X exists as an on-premise platform.

Images of people are personal data under the PDPA, and biometric data is a special category under Section 26 requiring explicit consent. CCTV analytics and any face-related application need that established before deployment, not after — and we will tell you when a proposed use case is not defensible.
